Job Summary:
The Commercialization Manager will spearhead the deployment of automation projects for Synk™ while leading and expanding a growing team to meet increasing project demands. Synk™, which is part of the Sukup Innovations™ family, is a platform providing on-farm automation solutions to enhance productivity and profitability.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Building and Scaling the Team: Identify hiring needs, participate in the recruitment process, and develop strategies to scale the team effectively to meet the growing demands of Synk™ projects.
- Project Planning: Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop detailed quotes and installation plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget requirements.
- Team Management: Lead a team of local/remote installation technicians and subcontractors, providing guidance, support, and supervision throughout the installation process.
- Site Assessment: Coordinate thorough site assessments to evaluate infrastructure, terrain, and other factors that may impact the installation of automation systems.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the delivery of equipment, materials, and resources required for installations, ensuring timely arrival and efficient use.
- Installation Execution: Oversee the installation of automation systems, including sensors, controllers, and other components, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Safety: Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and use of safety equipment needed to perform the job.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure installations meet regulatory standards and exceed customer expectations.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and address any issues or obstacles that arise during installation, implementing effective solutions to minimize disruptions and delays.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including progress reports, inspection records, and inventory management.
- Customer Communication: Keep customers informed about the status of installations, addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to customers and end-users following installation, ensuring they are proficient in operating and maintaining automation systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement of existing products. Provide feedback related to issues to the development teams. Identify new growth areas and/or product offerings.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, agriculture, or related field preferred or equivalent job experience.
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in the installation of automation systems or agricultural equipment. Preference will be given to those with project management experience in an agriculture environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate teams effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices and familiarity with farm operations preferred.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed and work in outdoor environments.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
